I’m changing the rear diff fluid and was surprised to find a metal gasket with a rubber ring on the inside. Should I re-use this and put some Permatex
Right Stuff on both sides, clean it and install dry Or just make a gasket with the Permatex?
Super Tech 75W90 is going in for 10-20k then I’ll put Amsoil in and call it good.

It seems Ford is saying toss it and RTV it, you will probably be okay by cleaning the old one off with brake cleaner and coating it on both sides with Permatex high tack. I would get this for the next time.

Thanks guys. I threw it out and just used RTV, no leaks so far. I’ll get a lube locker the next time I do it. This was kind of spur of the moment as I’m home bored and the wife and kids are out of town.
