Just curious if anyone has ever used these as I just recently ordered new pads and rotors both Raybestos and in my box was a packet of these clips which I did not install as there was no instructions to them. I looked them up the internet but just not sure about installing these especially since I have already installed the pads and rotors. Thought I would check with others here to see any had used these.

Seems like I remember years ago having some brakes with these drag reduction springs as OEM. I had to look up what you were talking about. EDIT: How do we reduce the Youtube attachment size?????

This is the first I hear of this. This product would increase braking time and increase pedal travel. Our company is taking great strides to reduce knockback of brake pads during cornering, and improve brake response after cornering. This product completely defeats this purpose.

Those are used on an OEM basis at Toyota. But some shops don't replace them and there's a TSB or two about brake "knock" from missing springs.

doitmyself that is exactly the clips I got in the box. To be honest I was confused as to how they exactly were to be installed. I kept looking for some kind of pin hole on the brake pad ear or something and finally said screw it and just did not install them. Not sure if they are needed or not.

In the olden days, the run-out of the disk would keep the pads away from the face of rotor. I guess now the improvements in machining rotors means that these springs are going to do that job. These things compress really easy with your fingers, so the idea that they will cause longer stopping distances is not correct. They can also serve to dampen resonance in the pads. I would install them when supplied.

These clips do exactly as the video describes. Ive seen them on some Toyota's and Honda's as OE. I replace them every time on applications it is oe.

They are on my Frontier as OEM. The replacement pads have always had them included with the hardware, so I always put them back on. Not sure if they do anything or not? They don't have a lot of force, so????

You are incorrect. The increased time delay between applying the brakes and contact of pads on rotor will cause longer stopping distances.
