RAV-4, CR-V. FORRESTER, or something else

My wife has had two Rav-4,s. A 1997 and a 2000. She put over
100000 mile on each. She drives like she is nuts!! She
beat them and no problems. Both were great in the snow and mud.

The Element looks too radical for me. The 2007 Rav-4 is a different car from the 2000. I think all these new cars are much better than 10 years ago. More safety, better fuel, more comfort. I'll be looking next week. Hope to have a new car by the end of next month. Just have to convince my wife. Say a prayer for me.

Out of the 3, I prefer the CR-V. But mainly because it shares so much, mechanically, in common with my Integra, before the re-design

I like the way the new CR-V looks too, though.

What do you want to do with it. I'm not sure I'd take any of them off road for any significant amount of time.

Personally, I have a CR-V and think it's great, but can't speak much for the other two. I test drove a 2003 Rav-4 when we were looking to buy, and liked it just fine, but the Honda was a little bigger, and gave us a better interest rate, plus the same or better reliability than the Toyota and the same gas mileage. Almost 4 years old now, and at 70,500 miles, the only work I've had to do on the CR-V aside from regular fluid/filter changes has been to replace a brake light bulb, which took a whole 5 minutes. I'll put new brake pads on some time this summer.
