Hey,

Well, I bought it! 1998 SC2 "Red Hot".

All original stuff (Black Roof, Black Badges, Black Teardrop Rim Paint, etc.) except for the Inst. Panel. They have had several various Saturns and called this one "Red Bull", so that's what it is going forward!

Only 657 made. They had no idea it was a "Red Hot" and rare...

They wanted $2500, but I got it in the mid-teens!!

It could use a few things, but no biggie.

They changed oil every 3,000 miles.

Full list of newer stuff in the last year or so:

- NEW Tires - only 5,000 miles on them
- Plugs & Wires
- Throttle Position Sensor
- Idle Air Valve
- Crank Position Sensor
- ECTS (Engine Coolant Temp Sensor)
- Thermostat
- Radiator
- Fuel Filter
- Fear Brake Calipers
- Front & Rear Rotors & Pads
- Wiper Blades
- Wiper Motor
- Gates Drive Belt
- Moog Greasable Sway Bar Links

I can upload more pics if you like.

Not bad, eh??

very nice. Is the black roof stock or a replacement? I've never seen a different color roof come stock. Great price for it, congrats!

Nice little car, I remember getting 36-40 miles a gallon in mine when driving long distance and using syn. Then the tranny [censored] out because the previous owner probably never changed the fluid...

Wow, that car is rare.. I have only seen 1 or 2 in my life.. I see way more Homecoming editions than I do white and red black tops.

I miss my S-series.. Seeing this makes me think of the excellent Saturnfans forums and of course the fun little cars themselves.

Take care of her...

I actually test drove a new SC2 with a stick. I remember it being peppy and handling very good. I bought a Dodge neon RT which was a mistake.

Thanks guys! Pics were "before" the Pro buffer/waxer... It glows now!

They also replaced the Tranny/Clutch a few years ago, so that's nice as well.

Dang, if I knew they would be so rare back then, I would have gotten one. I checked one out back in '98 but because they didn't negotiate the price (their practice back then), I ended up getting a brand spankin new '99 Mercury Cougar.

Shame, I love the white gauges.

Yes, but I have a lead on a white-faced gauge cluster...

Nice car, sounds like a great deal. Not sure how much cachet there is surrounding limited edition Saturns

but I will say that I absolutely loved my '92 SC. The early SC (note there weren't "1" and "2" models, they all came with the twin cam engine) had a shorter wheelbase than the sedans and were quite small. Plenty of room in the driver's seat for me though, even at 6'3". Very reliable and fun to drive.

Nice, remember looking at a "Black Top" '98 SC2 back when they were new. They were very sharp.
