Range has released a combo DFM disabler and auto-start stop eliminator device for the 2022.5+ “refreshed electrical”/encrypted Global B GM trucks and SUVs. It hooks inline the bottom PCM connector.

If any of you have had an AFM or DFM disabler in the past you know how much nicer a GM truck runs when it’s in V8 mode all the time.

Reports from beta testers on Facebook groups have unanimously praised it saying it’s worked flawlessly.

Also worth noting, Range appears to be a part of Holley group. Again this is for 2022.5+ up trucks only. Previous models could use the OBDII plugin module for disabling. These newer trucks are pretty locked down.

I ordered one and am excited for it to come to keep my Tahoe in V8 all the time and to turn off the auto start stop without having to press the button.

On the LT2, 6.2 liter cam in block engine, it switches between V4 and v8 except when you put the transmission into manual shift mode. It does not have start/stop.

The Range Inline DFM disabler came in Friday and I installed it. The install instructions had people removing the front driver wheel and part of the lines. Pulled the truck on the lawn, got down in the front of it and was easily able to access the bottom PCM connector from the front. Install took maybe 5 minutes.

Wow, what a world of difference. It is like a different truck. So much more on demand power and smooth power delivery. It is pretty astonishing how much the DFM makes the drivetrain seem elastic. Now it’s just “there”.

No weird quirks, issues or anything yet. Well done Range. If you’re on the fence about getting one and have a 2022.5+ refresh truck… take this as as recommendation to DO IT. It is probably the best option as of now considering HP tuners would cost you 6-7 bills plus the potential warranty termination with a Global B Unlock.

It will be cool in the future to tune these 10-speeds and the LTx DI engine. I can only imagine in true GM fashion there’s still power on the table as factory calibrations are pretty conservative.
