If they do not leave a message, I assume it is a robocall, and block the number for what little that will likely do.

I never answer the phone unless the incoming call has Caller ID.

Yes-I've called a few of them back (blocking my caller ID, naturally) & it's either an unused number or somebody who didn't call. National Do Not Call list is useless.

however the only way to win is to waste the telemarketer resourcrs. if everyone answered every call and then wasted the humans time on the other end then they would lose money and give up.
The fact that they get high hits from the people who do answer is what keeps them in business

I hate telemarketers that leave me a voicemail. There's no options inside my one year-old Android LG phone to block these spam voicemailers.

I don't think there's a way to stop it. How this 'evolved' was legitimate companies wanted their 'primary' phone number to appear on Caller-ID on outbound calls instead of a person's direct # showing up.

If these scamming scumbags are calling your cell phone there are lots of call blocking apps out there that will block about 99% of them. I use "nomorobo" but there are others. Our landline ( yes we still have one) I want to get rid of it but my wife keeps it just for calling friends and family maembers because it has very good voice quality much better than our cell phones. It is a Panasonic and it will block up to 1500 scam calls including the pesky "Out of area" callsthat do not leave a number on the call ID. It is not worth dealing with annoying phone scammers.. just block them, it is really easy to do. I maybe get 2-3 scam calls per month that sneak through on my cell, but I just do not answer and do a manual block.Our land line blocks about 30 to 50 calls per month on average, I think we are at about 750 blocked so far in about 2 years. It has reached the 1500 call limit once and then it does a mass delete and starts blocking the dirtbags again.
