I changed the oil for the first time on this truck and when I started it up it made a squeeling noise while waiting for the new oil to pump up.It lasted about 2-3 seconds. It calls for 5w30 that is what I use and a wix filter.I'm going to have dealer check it but before I take wanted some opinions.thanks

The noise could be anything. I wouldn't assume it is related to the oil change. Maybe you got some oil on the serpentine belt. Maybe the alternator pulley bearing made a little noise. Who knows? If it keeps doing it, definitely take it back to the dealer. If it doesn't do it again, I wouldn't worry about it.

Squeeling & metal chattering/ticking are completely different. If you think it's filter-related, find out the brand & model of the dealer oil filter. Sticking with that model may be your ticket to prevention. Or... you may hear that same noise every time you change the oil - unless you fill the oil filter first before mounting. It's either that or an oily/loose tension serpentine belt.

Just curious! What oil name did you decide to go with? Is it synthetic - blend - dino?

I understand what you mean about oil on belt ,but there wasn't any oil spilled.Think I will let the dealer do the next oil change and see what they say. This truck only has 5k on it.I put synblend in and was going to go Full Synthetic the next change but will have to wait awhile now. They did the first oil change at 1800k and I changed it myself at 4500k and thats when I heard the noise when starting it. It runs fine otherwise except when starting first time in the moring it makes a slight tickor knocking sound for a minute or so.

It does not do it in the morning,it only did it when I droped all the oil@ filter to change the oil.I use wix filters and compared the one I took off it looked just like the one I put on. I have good oil pressure all the time ,runs good but have never had one make this kind of noise during startup on a oil change .
