I have heard some people mentioned that when they ran a synthetic oil in their compressor it ran cooler and quieter. I came across a video on Youtube which compares the sound difference between a conventional oil to a synthetic. With synthetic it does sound quieter. Anyone else here make this observation?

Don't want to get off topic but when I used synthetic motor oil in a car engine, I didn't notice any sound difference.

I'll have to try. I've been thinking about changing my compressor oil to M1 10w30 which is approved by the manufacturer.

I have moved my compressor inside into our mechanical room in the basement so it can be heard a little on the main floor when it cycles. A little quieter would be great.

When I switched from mineral oil to Red Line 30WT non-detergent race oil in my CH compressor it was quite noticeable. Not only there was less noise there was also less vibration.
