I would have bought this... Quicksilver was developed at Giga Berlin and was an expensive ($8K) option. The Germans may not understand electricity buy they sure know paint!

I really like silver it's one of my favorite colors but I'd never spend more than $500 for it on any car. Only silver I'd spend big bucks on is the beautiful silver my old galaxy s7 edge had. Now that's the most beautiful radiant silver I've ever seen in my life. That's the only silver I'd spend thousands on. Though it's closer to chrome than silver in the dark with its mild color shift but I love chrome though which is probably why I love it. Also love super metallic dark bronze and copper though those are almost non existent auto colors.

Looks great, but not $8k great.
Beyond way over priced. MB doesnt even charge that for the most special colors, most colors cost little or nothing.
Quicksilver is a $2K option. Paint color choice is currently free if you add FSD, which I did.
When we bought our 2018 Mid Range, black was the standard color; no thanks. We opted for pearl white, which was $1,000 I think.

Looks like liquid mercury. Was/Is this a trial run to see if it is worthwhile color option? 8 grand eek. I'd be willing to bet that if a Tesla is painted in that color and is hit/ damaged you're talking an entire vehicle repaint. Mazdas painted in that deep red clearcoat require speacialty paint shops to repaint them. Who makes that color, 3M, PPG, BASF?

It does look liquid... Beautiful, IMO.
$8K was the price in Germany after they developed the beautiful color a few years back. The Germans brought a lot of knowledge to Tesla. And Europe buys a ton of them! I have no doubt buyers will pony up $2K for that gorgeous black-silver finish for the Model 3 made here.

As you know, Tesla options and prices are always changing. I would say they are offering this deal (free color choice with FSD) to move product.

I just want to thank the German Tesla paint team for their work. The Stealth Grey is almost black and is great, but that silver... Sheesh!
I have no doubt wifey would have picked the Quicksilver option.

Nice color but I like your dark grey paint much more. (y)
Good. Wanna buy it? Low ball offers accepted! I'm mad at Elon for raising prices $2K a week after the M3P was released; I missed that one. Then offering free paint choice with FSD. And now that gorgeous silver? He's wack.

Can you imagine hitting the throttle in Insane Mode in this color? Have mercy!

Agree with Jeff, German paint as one example in BMWs Blows away American watercolor.
Jeff, you should’ve bought that car instead, looks awesome.

I’m surprised about the comments regarding price is that just because the bias against electric vehicles?
I mean, everything has a price that some can and cannot afford and for others prices a matter of what brings you happiness

Perhaps readers think Quicksilver is $8K; that was only the original price at Giga Berlin on the Model Y for Europe. Currently $2K here and free if you opt for FSD, which is $8K. I should have been more clear. $8K is a tough sell on top of an already expensive car.

I would have picked this color, or should I say wifey would have, but it just came out. Maybe the Germans are finding the granola-heads at Fremont hard to train?

Anti EV bias here? I never noticed...

It is paint no matter if it is on a ev, gas car or riding lawn mower. 2k is not bad but 8K is bending someone over regardless of their income.
