Produced by Mercury Marine and added to the Quicksilver Powersports lineup in the past few years. The ad copy looks very appealing:

I know that Mercury Marine is a trusted name in the boating world, so I figured that this may be a promising alternative for Big Twin motorcycles. Consequently, I picked up 2 gallons at WalMart, yesterday (but kept the receipt, in case I hear differently).

I'd tried to find an MSDS spec on it, but have not been successful.

Does anyone know anything about Quicksilver 20W-50 Full Synthetic Motorcycle Oil? Has anyone actually used it?

Here's a quick link for more info: Quicksilver 20W-50 Full Synthetic Motorcycle Oil

Thanks, guys.

Returned the oil this afternoon. Couldn't find out any more about it and don't want to take the chance...

Probably good oil.

Made by Citgo????

They list that it meets those specs. You have to put blind faith that it does. But the truth is, their oil is not tested by the API. So knowing that, why would you pay top dollar for an oil that isn't tested or been proved to meet those standards?

Does it? Really? I haven't found a complete listing of specs published by Quicksilver.

I want to believe it, but I'm not sure that I can, without proof or some kind of evidence.

$25/5-quart container isn't what I would call "top dollar" for this oil; Mobil 1 15W-50 sells for the same price and is very popular among V-Twin riders. That said, I do have concerns that it hasn't been tested, but perhaps that may be due to its relatively recent entry into the motorcycle oil marketplace?

I would be curious to know if anyone has more info on this new oil...

The spec sheet looks good...the API Service Categories and JASO MA2. I'd use it.

Laugh at the "typical wet clutch" where they show a centrifugal clutch. Typical on a scooter???
