I just got my car polished (spiderwebs/swirls) and waxed. Is there a product that I can apply and remove quick without much effort/time in between washes to add some protection and shine?
Thanks!

Poorboy's Quick Detail +. Has Carnuba in it, goes on great, and smells great.

I've heard alot of great things about the Meguairs Ultimate Quik Wax. I also love that Target often has it on sale for about $7. Too bad I didn't get any at the time.

Regardless, I also recommend Armor All Extreme Shield Wax. After you develop a technique, it'll only add about 10 minutes to your washing time. I just wet the paint with it, by smearing it all over my hand then dab it on the paint. You don't need full coverage since you don't need to wait for it to dry. You immediately wipe off. During that wipe your microfiber cloth will smear it for full coverage.

Since your car is newly polished it's longevity, with my experience, for daily drivers is 6 months. Daily drivers that are garaged and are parked in parking structures can last 1 year. Since you'll probably apply it every other wash, your paint will have a sacrificial barrier at all times. Even if that barrier gets removed, you still have your wax underneath.

The negatives, despite it being hydrophobic it doesn't leave a slick surface. But who actually buys a car to feel it up constantly?

The other negative is longevity is determined by your preprep. I never used it on top of another wax, but on top of well prepped polished paint, it lasts as much as I mentioned previously.

Online, right? None of the recc'd products are available at B/M stores, i think.

I also can suggest Sonax Brilliant Shine QD: a a bit harder than others to work with but the finish / protection I have seen with it exceeds other 'QD' labeled products, IMO.

The professionals recommend buying it by the gallon. Smells like Hawaiian Tropic.

I've had the same experience. I wouldn't expect too much from any spray on product, though. A little antistatic a little UV protection for a couple of weeks.

If you have a garage, you might want to try the no-rinse washes. I'm using the Duragloss product. It has the Aquawax in it, so you don't even have to spray the car when you are done. You can continue to keep your car clean longer into the season. I like the no-rinse so much I knock the heavy dirt off at a do it yourself place then drive home and no-rinse it.

Duragloss Aquawax, Finish Kare #425, and Meguiar's Quik Wax are all good choices. I have all three plus Optimum Spray Wax and several more. FK#425 is a quick detailer, Aquawax & Meg's are both sealants. Optimum actually contains carnauba and is just that...a true spray wax.
