Try a lemon law attorney and see where they direct you (this is not a lemon law case) but they should be able to direct you... If this was NJ i may be able to help but in Fla. i dont know the law

Almost half the price, it kinda makes you question the quality of the oil.

I can't accept your info that AutoZone charged that price for oil that is widely sold for less than $4/qt.

I got the receipt right here, they threw an STP filter for free for every bottle. $29.99 per bottle, I have no reason to lie.

honestly this is no ones error but the purchaser. If you want a good deal on oil you have to shop around. if people will buy oil at autozone for double the price, they will continue to charge that price. i never buy oil at a parts house unless its a close out or a super good deal. most specials are still higher than buying 5 qts and a filter at walmart. love it or hate it walmart saves money.

AZ sells conventional oil for almost $6 a quart (ripoff). Return it and go to Walmart, buy the same oil there, and leave with a fatter wallet.

It's the same oil, but different stores. Has nothing to do with quality.

Dude if you been paying $30.00 for a 5 quart jug of any High Mileage oil you been getting robbed. Walmart has the best prices of any oil and it is the same oil no matter where you buy it.

I usually don't pay much attention to prices but just noticed today that the local Walmart has the same oil for this price:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Castrol-GTX-High-Mileage-5W30-Motor-Oil-5-qt/17253557.

If you want to get quality oil at lower price take a look at this sub-forum " Product Rebates, Sales and Promotions"

Just simply gather up the jugs of oil and the receipt, and take it back to the store for a refund.

Now you see the value of people having an oil stash.

Buy oil only when it is on sale and stock up a bit. Filters too.

Has anyone ever done comparative VOAs of Walmart versus parts store oil of same brand/grade/etc?

The important thing is you made it out of the creepy-guy-down-the-street's basement where you've been held captive for the last 20 years! Hooray for that!

This.

In my area, even on special the auto parts stores' prices are still higher than Wally's everyday price for the exact same items.

Another example: local VatoZone sells MC 5W-20 jugs for $25...Wally sells them for $17. If the difference was only a dollar or two I would buy at the parts store, but an $8 difference?

Walmart pretty much always has the lowest price on a specific oil. I just got a 5 Qt. jug and a quart bottle of Pennzoil conventional for just under $20 total before tax. Even when the local auto stores have a deal on the 5 Quart with a cheap filter it will be $19.99 and then you still have to buy a quart at regular price which will be almost $6.

For me you can't beat Walmart. 6 Quarts and a MC filter for a little less than the oil change deal.

lol - sounds darn cheap to me. I wouldn't complain.

45 bucks here for Castrol GTX.

I use Castrol TWS - 25 bucks for 1 litre!
Motul is not much cheaper.
