Quantum Lubricants new kid on the block?

I was in my local NAPA yesterday, and they're carrying a new PCMO called Quantum Lubricants X-5 Max Blend with an SN rating. Quantum Lubricants products are produced by United Petroleum Company, one of the companies owned by Calumet Specialty Product Partners, which has produced Royal Purple products since 2011.

NAPA said the synthetic blend is sold for $1.99 a quart regular price only available in full cases of 12. I won't be giving it a try because I have plenty of oil currently. I checked PQIA and they have not tested any Quantum oils. Could this be a small blender product similar to Smitty's selling for about $10 for your average oil change?

When I saw the title of this thread I thought you meant the Quantum that Europeans have been able to buy from VW/Audi dealerships for years and years..

As well as the dealerships selling this stuff over the parts counter I believe a lot of them use it as their bulk-fill workshop fluid.
