I have been saying this for months......with tests to back it up. There is no such thing as additive clash among commonly found oils, people.....it just doesn't happen! This of course, does not include Z-Max, Slick 50 and the like.

OTC oils will NOT "clash." Oil companies can not make an oil that is different from the others. First they'll get sued all over.....second, they would isolate themselves from the market.

None of this " will not clash " guarantees that a well formulated oils performance will not be compromised in some way by mixing or that some additives will not compete against each other .I won't use the word clash as in fallout but will use compromised performance .

I think I remember two different topics where it was advised to not add moly to Delvac 1 as an example .

The bottom line as usual in these mixing threads - it's OK to blend if you know what you are doing and you won't instantly kill your engine if you don't know what you are doing.

We have not seen any additive clash from mixing two oils together from different manufactures on this site! We have plenty of people that have tried mixing or are mixing Redline with other oils and in most all of the cases they got better results with their brew.

I have often added 1/2 and 1/4 quarts of different oils to a comunity jug. This jug was always used to refill low dollar cars,trucks,garden and lawn equipment etc.....Never saw any settleing,seperation sludge etc......

The only side effect I know of is weakening of the better oil by the weaker one. If you mix RL with SuperTech oil, what you'll end up doing is diluting RL's additives. Then again, that's exactly why we mix some oils......to get something in between for much less $$$.
