Does it keep engine cleaner than PYB? same detergents? or less.

I will use 4 qts quaker state 5w20 green bottle for my next oil change, with a bosh filter.

Just curious how it can be compared to Pennzoil Yellow bottle.

Thanks!

No one here would have that answer.
Both meet or exceed the stringent (turbo) deposit requirements ILSAC GF-5.

Note that Oil with high molyDTC would tend to form MORE ring sticking deposits - but as the TEOST and in situ engine deposit test are strict for ILSAC cert, this may be a moot discussion point.

This whole thing with pennzoil is mostly marketing. All of the major conventional's should be fine at cleaning. Nothing against PYB at all here but all of the oil co's have a different marketing ploy. Honestly I would use PYB over QSGB due to the slightly better specs. We are talking splitting hairs though.

This. If it meets the GF5/SN spec, it's going to help clean. Today's "dino" oils are within spitting distance of synthetics, anyway. Soon there will be practically no difference between them. Oils have come a long, long way.

QSGB is a fine oil and contains a very typical amount of detergent in the add pack. PYB is highly touted for it's cleaning ability (marketing) but does actually contain more detergents than most conventionals, about 200ppm to 300ppm more calcium (detergent).

QS should keep things clean as well as most, no oil I've found yet is a magic cleaner in a bottle regardless of the marketing.

Your QS Green Bottle should be OK for cleaning, but PYB clearly has the edge in this area.

QS has more boron (214 versus 109), but PYB easily makes up the difference with a lot of moly (269 versus 117) for improved mpg.

Here's a link to PYB and its detergent package (5w30 is similar to 5W-20): http://www.pqiamerica.com/Pennzoil.htm

In my son's car, I paid a dollar more and went with PYB (I only run synthetic in my vehicles).

The bottle's cleansing abilities are minimal, but the oil itself is pretty good.

LOL! Don't get too hyped up RE: marketing on motor oil's ability to perform. Afterall: API-SN/ILSAC-GF5 certified motor oil is capable of clean/maintaining an engine clean in order to get certified.

Bottomline: they all work.

I wouldn't call any of those numbers a clear advantage. The only thing that's clear is that the PYB side of things is able to claim a cleaning advantage sufficient for marketing purposes over its own QS product. The advantage is very likely minimal.

In the end, no one is going to be able to tell the difference in long term use in a vehicle. Both will do very well. I'd use either with confidence, and if you look at my signature, you'll see that I do.

To mirror what ARCO said, it's GF-5 so you know it meets or beats that strict requirement for cleaning. Unless your car has had a very rough life of [censored] oil and extremely long intervals, it should perform similarly to most other off-the-shelf dinos.
