..than leading Japanese and American manufactures specifications.*
*using API Sequence IVA.

Saw it on a Quaker bake counter pad. This is the conventional green bottle stuff. Maybe off on the wording, going from memory. Lost at least another sentence. Only the important part shown..

Discuss.

I'd guess that means the wear was 1/2 the limit allowed by API SM and ILSAC GF-4. That's respectable for a lower priced oil IMO. So many ads are going out on Seq IVA results that I can't remember how much wear the other oils advertise. Anyone know?

Somewhere in one of the Valvoline vs. Mobil threads there was a link to Valvoline's claimed test number for M1 on the seq. IVA test. I just searched and couldn't find it but I believe Mobil was somewhere around half of the passing number of 90??? If so, then the SM standard is twice as good as M1 and that would make Quaker State 4x as good as Mobil 1.

Marketing, marketing, marketing. It's a copy cat business. One company claims X times better (Valvoline, Castrol), another soon follows with the same slogan. If you think these oils are that much better than one another, than you have bought into good old fashioned marketing.

I just checked their website. The new green bottle is among 4 new oils. Looks like they dropped the Slick 50 from the high mileage label.

Someone answer this... If Syn Power is 4x better than M1 and Edge is 8x better than M1...

Than how much better is conventional valvoline than other conventional brands, and how much better is GTX better than other conventionals?

I just read the QS website re the green bottle. States it protects 2x better than current US and Japanese wear tests.

I'll quote myself a 3rd time..LOL. So if QS GB-green bottle is 2x better, then how much better is YB Pennzoil? After all, it uses a better base oil. For Alah's sakes..Johnny!!! where are you??? Johnny?

I'm curious to see if there is any difference between the current Q-Horsepower and the new stuff.

Might as well ask alah because I'm retired and won't play this game. I will leave that up to the fools in the marketing departments of all the oil companies. If I see one more dipstick commercial about castrol edge I think I will throw a brick at the tv.
