This is what I've decided to go with in the future. After I use my last jug of PP and then some varios qts of Amsoil and M1/leftover I'm making the switch.
It will work out to be $27/change with oil from Walmart and filters from Advance (already bought 4-5qt jug and 4 filters). I feel fine with QSUD from what I've read here and other websites. I've used M1>Amsoil>PP and started changing my own about a year ago.
As for the OCI, 6k is my max. Most of my driving is done on the highway at constant speed and rarely stop-and-go.
I have 05 Corolla w/ 184k miles with 300k goal as long as the car is safe!
These days I still want to use quality products, but price is now a factor with a family! Just thought I'd share.

I've also got a 05 Corolla with a few miles more than yours and your OCI is too short for your driving IMO.

My max has been a little over 13k but the normal is 7-9k with conventional. The UOAs come back just fine and the engine runs just like it did when new. Never a issue with the engine (or car for that matter) for 236k so 300k is easy time IMO.

Bump the OCI up to at LEAST 7500 (that is what it was the year before ours) since you are mostly highway miles.

Take care, bill

Thank you for the advice! That's reassuring that you have same car and have had UOAs-236k says it all.
I just changed my oil this morning (PP w/ K/N filter, remaining stock). I give 7500 a try and be changing arount Thanksgiving!
