My brother changed the oil in his '00 Mustang today and had gotten a jug of Quaker State High Mileage oil. We usually run Havoline 5w30 but they were out. Anyways, I has just looking at the jug and noticed that there was not an API starbust anywhere, unless I missed it...

What gives?

I was just at Walmart and noticed the same thing. The new MaxLife and SuperTech High Mileage have it. Both of them are now SN GF-5...

I looked at Pennzoil High Mileage and Quaker State High Mileage too. I think one of them said GF-5, but not SN... I'd have to go back and look again to be sure.

This was brought up a few days ago. A source close to Shell said that most users of this oil are out of factory warranty, and Shell did not feel that it warranted a need to pay for API certification for this oil.

Use it with confidence..

idk i like the starburst on my oil. i would probably go a different route like Pennzoil High Mileage or Valvoline MaxLife.
