I always hear how good Purolator Oil Filters are but how good are their fuel filters and air filters? How do they compare vs other brands that offer filters such as Wix.

I have used the air filters with no problem... Both the standard and the oiled PureOne versions. I was going to purchase a fuel filter but found that it was made in China, so I decided to pick up the AC Delco which was 2x as much.

The only "questionable" item I've ever bought with the Purolator name on it was a PCV valve for my old S-15 Jimmy. It had a very sloppy fit into the grommet and initially I thought I needed to replace the grommet but the AC-Delco valve I bought from the auto parts store fit snugly.

Never had a problem with any of their filters though.

I like the motorcraft air filters.. the rubber surround is much better quality than the average air filter.

hard to find their fuel filters. i was able to easily find FRAM, WIX, and Motorcraft for my mercury colony park. purolator was not in stock anywhere.

i am confident that the purolator fuel filter is as good as their oil filters! made in USA, good stuff!!!

Yeah, it seems air filters are all over the place in quality compared to oil filters. I guess I don't like the fact that Purolator has many of their air filters made in China ... hope they don't do the same with their oil filters too.

The few Purolator classic air filters I tried were noticeably flimsy and of lower quality compared to the AC-Delco counterparts. I would not buy again.

Same goes for their fuel filters.

Puro trans filters seem to be average, generic, made in china stuff, no better or worse than those sold at Advance auto and such, however no gasket included on certain part #.

Time to trade in your vehicle, because a bunch of the electronic components that are in it, are Chinese.

I used Purolator 1 oil filters on 2005 Dodge Neon its got 132,585 miles, the oil is still clean when I change every 3000 miles I drive 168 miles everyday 6 days a week. The counter person at Advance Auto cut a Fram and a Purolator 1 filter apart one day and I seen how poorlIy the Fram was made. Glad I use Purolator 1.
