Oh yes, Ones have torn.

The Boss has issues with the ADBV getting sliced

99% @ 40 microns ... not 20 microns. Purolator stopped putting a micron size on their efficiency numbers when they stated the "new line" of filters.

That was the regular WIX 57055 not the XP. I believe the NAPA Gold equivalent is a 7055. They both are as efficient as you need. It's your car, I'm just giving you the specs from WIX.

Depending on what is in my stash I've be running Purolator's for about ten years on my Corolla. I've yet to find one that has tear.

FWIW - I used Purolator cartridge filters in my '06 Ford Fusion from '06 - '18 and never had a tear. Most of those filters were changed every other oil change which means they were in service for about 16,000 miles (every other oil change).

JLTD you hit the nail on the head. I have found reliable alternatives to Purolator made filters. It makes no sense to re-qualify Purolator. Meanwhile I cut and sometimes post.
