PUROLATOR P1 PL-21495 CUT OPEN

This filter and some Mobil 1 5w30 was in a friends 2020 Cadillac SUV with 3.6 engine. I changed the oil 5,000 miles ago, put fresh Mobil 5w30 in left filter on. So this filter has just shy of 9,700 miles if I added miles correct. Looks good and Purolator used the string on this one. Put AC DELCO filter she supplied and more Mobil 1 5w30 in and on. Filter made 2019 also

Shark bite ADBV. Thing is, when the filter is together the ADBV partially covers up the base plate inlet holes. It's a design flaw that Purolator doesn't seem to want to rectify.

Exactly, I was saddened to see the cuts
 
Well a definite problem with that ABDV I've run one of those blue Purolator's Adam and my first one came out with zero issues. I have one more of the old gold/yellow PureOnes to use. Then I'll be back to the Blue cans.

I have a Purolator boss that has 10k off a 2019 Corolla of a lady friend that lives near me. Stay tuned!

The adbv slit issue seems more application dependent than type/tier Puro filter dependent. I use the 7317/6607equivalent applications and there is no slit issue because the central part of the adbv doesn't rest the inlet holes. Central part has a narrow raised ring that sits central to inlet holes, so no slits. This applies to the 14610/14612 applications and equivalents like the Bosch Premium 3323. In last couple years used and posted c&p all those mentioned and have a couple I haven't posted yet. No slit or tear issues seen over substantial fci. I would bet the SAE thread equivalent's of those (14476/14477) used on Toyota same design.

Other than slits which are not great, element itself including louvers looks good. Seeing the assembly string, must be a relatively large/tall filter.
