I have seen some recent posts regarding Purolator oil filters with cardboard endcaps. Today, I cut the filter that fits the V6 Camry/ES300 (L10241) and it has metal endcaps. And the email I received from Purolator indicates a percentage of the oil filters have cardboard endcaps and have for many years.
I will say, however, the Purolator filter didn't retain oil inside the filter like the Honda Filtech filter does.
I cut open a Honda Filtech filter (which fits our Isuzu Trooper) and much more oil was still in the filter even though I had changed the oil with the Honda filter 3 weeks prior to changing it with the Purolator.
