This filter was in service for 4,888 miles and almost 4 months in a 2004 Grand Caravan with the 3.8 liter V6 engine. No tears anywhere. The top end cap popped right off but I don’t think it really has any ill effect for this model. Glued seam on this model. When I cut the filter open there were only drops left in the filter, maybe a milliliter. Last Fram filter I cut had a couple ounces trapped inside that gushed out. This filter is fine for short intervals but perhaps a better choice would be the PL line for this brand.

totally agree-filter looks 'used' & time for a change---why push it any longer, as there are obviously deposits in this engine

Yes this vehicle has 232k and suffered infrequent oil changes at quicky lube shops until very recently. These 3.8 liter engines are known to use oil and it has been run pretty low many times in the past. I believe this the 4th 5k change I've done with Peak Permormance 5w30 and it is slowly cleaning up the mess.
