Hello My Oil Obsessive Friends!

I have a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL with 60k miles. I bought it used with about 44k. I have been using Purolator Premium Plus filters with Havoline 5w30 dino. I have decided to go with M1 5w30 and want to extend my OCI to 7500k which is actually what my manual says. My question is is this filter adaquate for this longer drain? I had considered the Pure One instead, but got spooked by the flow rates in the Mercruiser study. ( I do realize this was at room temp) So, would I be better off with the Premium plus or the Pure One? I am not interested in spending the $$ for Mobil 1 or K&N filters. Also, I really want to use a filter that I can buy locally and conveniently. I thought about Wix, but these are a bit harder to find around here.

This is what purolater wrote me (I have no clue why everyone on these forums makes up their own room temp tests) seems they would use an sae standard
===================
PureOne filters meet the flow requirements of automotive applications. We
test our filters per SAE specification HS806 Chapter 1, and the standard
flow rate requirement that we follow states that the pressure differential
(between inlet and outlet) shall not exceed 3.0 psi at a flow rate of 3.0
gpm. On the PL30001 filters, flow restriction is 0.8 psi (avg) at 3.0 gpm.

I wouldn't worry about it. Your using a thinner oil so it's less demanding of flow. Either filter would work fine, but I think the Pure One would be better for extended drains since it has a silicone ADBV. Try it out, I don't think you'll have any problems.

You might consider the Premium Plus in the L24458 size if you have the physical clearances for it. That would at least give you greater filter media area.
