Don't blink...

Purdue Engineering in action. I like the part where one of the students said that they managed to hit .119 seconds (or something like that) and didn't think they'd be able to replicate that again. Then they blew through that benchmark. I guess, technically, he was correct. :ROFLMAO:

That's really cool! When the cubes came out, I got a book detailing how to solve it. Memorized it and I could do it within 1:30 or :30...can't remember which. Doing this backfired on me. My classmates found out and were constantly "Hey, can you fix my cube?". Got to be exasperating and finally said if you mix it up again, you're on your own...or take it apart and put it back solved. Those little ones on key chains were the worst, even for the small hands of an early teen. It's crazy that people can do it sub 5 seconds!

We just toured Purdue engineering two weeks ago. Ate at AAA and then went home to c-bus. My son is a 10th grader.

yeah....but can they start a lawn mower?
Mine’s 16, and mows 3 acres in about an hour and a half on a 60” after checking the oil, without breaking anything. He also disassembled the rear brake caliper and e-brake on the Impreza by himself, and got it back together in working order without any assistance. I’d say he’s got a well-rounded childhood so far, lol.

The only thing that’s been scary so far even though he managed to do it safely was I came home from a work trip and he nonchalantly says, “I trimmed several of those branches by the fence back this week.” I asked if he used the pruning shears, to which he replied, “No, I used the chainsaw. I know how the safety clutch works.” Even though I had to tell him he always needs my permission and an adult present, I was impressed with his aptitude and attention to detail.
