I’ve got an old analog Reb-Co gauge that I’ve had for over 25 years at least. The price is good for sure, and I like the backlighting.

I got a few Astro or something from Amazon, the ones with AAA batteries, like them, they show almost same pressure and accurate enough. Batteries are easy to change and I use rechargeable.
you mean you have this one??
Astro Ai Digital Tire gauge with light

because I have the same one, very, very accurate, was about 0.1psi different between this $20 one and the snap on my mechanic had! No, I didn't have the heart to tell him how much he overpaid.. let him be happy with his new toy.

I had something like that but was the Slime brand. works great.. then the battery went dead and I reverted to a mechanical gage , so its like everything.. its great but it has a weakness.
Can replace the battery . The VICTOR in picture above still works great . The new SPORT is 0.1 increments and the old VICTOR is 0.5 increments . Like the newer tire pressure gauge better for readings .

The problem is calibration. I used a Walmart one for a year and was getting irritated the bmw dealer kept lowering the pressure of my tires. Then I compared 2 other gauges and I was overinflating by almost 3 psi.

Funny my Jaco that goes to 0.1. I compared it last Thu to when the costco pump said 38. Gauge said 38.0–costco pump was spot on. Also good is that I will find all 4 of my tires to 0.3 of one another, weeks later. When my tires were new that gauge caught 1/4 tires losing 0.5 to 1 psi per month (all 3 others same). Was a bead leak on the new tire as old rim. Does pay to measure

I think it’s worth it, it’s not like we buy one every year. Likely every 10.

yeah... I know... but I own more than one tire gage and it just wasn't worth it to fix.. I think I paid 5 bucks for the gage.

I have the same, but the one with the hose (my wheel/valve stem layout is stupid haha). Fantastic purchase, imo. Works great, lifetime warranty.

Never in my life would I have dreamed I'd spend $30 on a tire gauge, but now I'll never buy another cheapie.

what do you do when you compare 4 or 5 gages and get 4 or 5 different readings? :)

I go with having almost any version, used consistently and monitor tread wear with an inexpensive depth gauge is better than 99.999% of the people out there. At best many now just rely on the TPMS readout if they have it and let dealer or shop adjust.

I have a more recent nicer Jaco, multiple slime digitals I had for years, and each car has a cheaper pencil stick version in the glove box. I even gave a couple of those away to people I showed how to check. The Slime's only go to .5psi unlike Jaco at .1psi. My tires have always worn flat unless I have an alignment issue that needs to be corrected. Are the Hyper Tough/Slime and others as good? They work and if you use the same one and monitor the rest of conditions, they work well.

I showed my neighbor yesterday as he was bitching about spending $500 per tire on his wife's X5 runflats. In a year and about 10k the outer channels are 2/32" lower than middle 2 channels. I told him he needed to add about 2 psi more than what he was at and keep it that way. He said she usually checks the TPMS and no lights have come on. That led to the how TPMS works and about 20-25% low etc.
