Just purchased a 2019 Honda Odyssey. Super clean, one owner, full clean carfax of oil changes.
42k miles on the odometer, wondering what engine oil to use?
Been running Pennzoil synthetic in my 2003 Tundra, with Wix filter.
With 42k miles, thinking of running Amsoil with a Wix XP filter. 0w20 seems a little thin though. Live in West TX and car is just a family ride, so no harsh driving conditions.
Have not been on the forum in 15+ years.
Wondering what yall think, and if “import” oil is really worthwhile.

Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30 and a Carquest Premium oil filter. Exactly what I run in my daughter’s 3.5L with excellent results, now at 140k.

That was my first thought as well. I suggested the Valvoline Restore and Protect as although it only has 42k on it and from what I understand on here, the Honda VCM system is hard on the back bank due to the frequent on/off. The ESP is what I would run after the Valvoline Restore and Protect.

I second the Carquest Premium filter as well, really hard to not suggest on just about any vehicle for the time being.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Valvoline Restore and Protect!!

My son's 2016 Odyssey ran fine for ~135K miles on Valvoline 0W-20. The engine attempted to self-delete unitl I added a muzzler to its system.

Traded for a '26 Toyota Sequia.
