i have been searching for before and after pics of an engine that ran PU. the only thing i could find is a person talking about a thread. can anyone help me out here? i would greatly appreciate it.
im very interested because i just made the switch to PU. they say it works better than platinum and ive had good luck with that on my wifes explorer. i would take pics myself but its really a pain to remove the valvecover and my luck it would start leaking afterwards. with a flashlight i can barely se any internals and it would be really tough to get a decent shot down the oil fill

PU is a very high quality oil if you made the switch don't worry about it,the oil is "designed" to clean and with a high tbn and great additive package you'll know it's going to be a performer for you.

run the oil and decide for your self and do some before and after pics.

it's too bad there's not allot on this oil but from what we have seen(UOA's)it's a quality product use it with confidence.

PU has been available for less than a year, it might still be a while before we start seeing those kinds of pics. But I'd like to see them too

Oh I just was showing examples. You expected this. Here are 2 bimmer oil fill holes not the exact same car but another same model owned bimmer. Below are two of those photos. On the top is what the cam case should look like in a well maintained engine when photographed through the oil filler cap. On the bottom is what the same type of engine looks like when suffering sludge buildup.

In this example, the consensus was that the sludge buildup was caused by an overheating engine, oil that hadn't been changed for 20,000 miles of stop-go city driving, a lot of cold starts and a period of about 12 months in storage without an oil change. Most of this happened before the current owner got it. (credit to Prelude forum & Bimmerfest forums)
