Lately with my G6(see sig) the steering wheel makes a rubbing sound when warmed up and the steering feels "weird" as in when rotating the wheel to the right once or twice I feel a weird grind(very feint) or a rubbing sensation. When cold this doesn't happen but when driving for say 20-30 minutes its pronounced and makes driving very unpleasant. I still have power steering but the feel and noise is irritating.
Another thing I noticed is that I've done the turkey baster method roughly 3-4 times in a month and the fluid always comes out dark dark brown/black. I've been refilling with the GM synthetic power steering fluid as recommended by GM. This issue was less pronounced(still there) before doing this. Is this an issue with the steering box? the rack? the fluid knocking things loose in the steering line?
