There have been some threads on these filters lately. Made in China I believe ... probably OK for a 3K OCI.

I am not looking to buy one of these for my engine. I will only use MC.

I might buy one to dissect for the forum.

$5.xx for these or $3.27 for a purolator from walmart? With coupons it breaks even, I guess.

If you search the board I think there's already been a couple of dissection threads.

ProMotive sold as an AAP commercial accounts filter made by Purolator. I'd say based on their website info similarity that they are 'most likely' identical to Group7 filters. Not new, actually been at AAP for some time. They would also be similar to/same as Pep Boys ProLine and Quaker State filters. Spin ons made in USA, Fayetteville NC.

Like the others, some downsizing to smallest application that will fit and they use nitrile adbv. Note the similarity between the ProMotive and Group7 websites.

These are expensive for my car - $7.29!!!
The OEM filter is cheaper - unless these are better - no evidence yet - I just stick with OEM.

A more cheaply made Puro filter that costs MORE than the Classic? No thanks. Starting to think AAP is just raising their prices by the amount of their codes to equal WM.

As the PM filters are primarily intended for jobbers/indy's, on the commercial accounts section back shelf. I suspect the price listed on the site it not what they pay. I'd have to ask, but would be willing to speculate that a jobber price is significantly less.

I did notice the MC FL-400S is cheaper at AAP than what WM sells it for. $3.69 VS $3.97.

But the clearly inferior Promotive for the FL-400S application sells for $5.29-not a good deal at all. AAP is a good place to buy the cheaper MC filters (when O'Reilly isn't giving free stuff away).
