Every time I have a sale using Promo codes only 10 to 20% of the people use them.
More like 10%. The code is sent in a newsletter and on the website etc.

I'm starting to think people may not know what a promo code is????? Seriously!

The other day I had to buy a piece of equipment that was $1400
New equipment and on his website the guy had in fine print to send him a Postal Money order and send it certified
for security and you get free shipping worth $60 and a 20% discount. Of course I jumped on that and called him first.
He said nobody takes him up on it. I know its true because I offered the same deal at 15% and after 6 weeks of nothing I took the offer down.

Bottom line? People don't deal in cash, they have none, or they are lazy.
But $340. off of $1460. I'll take that all day long. it isn't bogus either because he is also a EBay seller and most pay retail.

Too many to keep track of, probably, or they're not reading your bulk mailings. I do an eMail search when I'm buying something I get information on, but a lot of people ... maybe most people ... have no clue how to search Google properly, let alone an app resident on their system.

Try a contest on Fishbowl Prizes dotcom, give something away and see what your message response rate is.

To some extent, but if I send a money order and don't get what I paid for, what recourse do I have?
I deal in cash all the time local. When I had my engine replaced, I asked about a cash discount, and the shop said sure. Almost 10% off (almost $300).

Postal MO's are about the safest way to send money if you fill them out.
Keep the receipt and you're good to go.
I understand the deep cash discounts. In the older days I got mostly cash, checks, and MO's
Today all I ever get is CC's and PayPal and just about 50% is gone to fees and taxes
But me, yeah it is a pain going to the bank and then the PO to get MO's but at that savings I'll do it.
