Good evening folks
smile.gif

Off of a 2017 Ford Edge that had unknown oil and this filter for unknown miles. Spark plugs were toast as in half electrode gone on all 4 plugs. Supposedly had few tank fulls of E-85 and whatever else. Towed in to our shop. De fueled and put new plugs in and oil change. Engine still making internal knocking sounds. Went to dealer today. Oil smelled "smokey and burned" in words of tech that helped me.

Miles on car is 21k.

I put Eco Power 5w30 and Parts Plus 2835 filter on. Drove ok but still knocking sounds in engine. Dealer will figure it out

Must be a flex fuel vehicle if it used E85. Strange the plugs are smoked in 21K miles.

Anyway you can follow up what happened?

All i know is Monday morning it was on our lot. Check engine codes and wouldnt crank. Wish i took pics of plugs as they were nasty and half electrode burned/destroyed off

I did get roughly 8 gallons of diesel out of tank so that didnt help. Oil just reeked of blown motor stench though. See what dealer says now as no longer my problem. I documented what i found

Yeah, its not first time I've dealt with this also.

I’ve heard of it happening as well but i thought the nozzles won’t fit in a gasoline fill neck?

Not always a nozzle issue...

Couple years back I got fuel at Super America and the delivery driver had filled the in ground premium tank with diesel. I was not pleased... They paid out the nose for that mistake!

Must be a Speedway/SuperAmerica thing-I actually had the opposite happen-gasoline in the diesel tank. Six injectors later, in a 6.0 diesel van, the Ford dealer finally checked the fuel!

These are nice looking filters. I especially love the center tubes! Lots of big round holes evenly spaced.

jongies3, I bought 4 of these same filters from a rural king store in Indiana just this last Sunday for cheap. My filter is mounted vertically on the bottom of my engine.

Thank you for the repost,Unless I'm just missing something in the details ,I'd say it looks like a pretty decent filter.Especially for $1.99
