So, after my platelet donation; I hit the Rural King. Got last 3 jugs of all fleet 10w30 CJ4/SM oil. Browsed the filter section and all the Prime Guard filters are now made in the USA ๐Ÿ‘โ˜ฎ๏ธ๐Ÿป

Iโ€™m planning on using the POF-4476 and probably cut the POF-195 open. The 4476 looks Fram made and the 195 is a E Core

Isn't the basic Extra Guard a better value now that its a 10K filter and under $4, as well as easy to get?
Thanks as usual for the cp........

doubt it as Prime Guard filters are $1.99 and made in USA. Extra Guard maybe claimed 10k filter cause it has silicone adbv๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

Yeah that's cheap but no RK anywhere near me but I'm not a buyer anyway.
Just having a conversation. Being made here lowered their prices.
They used to be way overpriced

Who makes these now? They look familiar
Still look like Champ made (Combo valve on one, blue bypass on the other, both Champ designs).
Iโ€™m going to have to say Fram since I heard here they bought Champion Labs
Trico Group is now the parent company of both Fram and Champ, but that was a very recent change, so doubt there is any crossover (yet).

These filters seem to be built well, that one you sent me was just fine. I just don't have anywhere to buy them around me.

Just saw these filters at RK the other day, the RK6607/POF 4612 looked exactly like a black ST 6607 (Champ) and the RK 3600/POF 195 looked exactly like a Champ filter. I looked up Prime Guard which took me to their website which says they are a Nigerian based company that was formed to support the Nigerian market due to low quality products. They have oil/air/cabin filters as well as motor oil. These Rural King products are clearly Champ with the product of USA stamped on them. So, a black ST6607 for $1.99 is a good bargain. My question is, in your pic the POF 195 is missing the anti drain back valve isn't it??? Did you or are you planning to do a C&P on these? I remember seeing a Motorcraft filter that was built without the silicone drain back before, so I always double check my filters now. In today's' merged market place, I don't get too excited over filters because some Wix are now made by Purolator and visa versa and there are many others I'm sure like Fram/Champ with parent companies buying them up it's all about logistics etc.

The nitrile ADBV is behind the baseplate sir

Yes I do recall now. The base plate design always confused me with the multiple hole design. I actually ran these (Champ) on a Fusion 4cyl for 160k. I cut 2 or 3 open over 5 years and they were fine after 5k OCI. I never posted pics because I didn't know of BITOG then....I'm sorry....๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Itโ€™s all good sir. Work used to use CHAMP labs in everything even our GM plow trucks. Never a issue

Based on the pics and date codes it would appear that "Prime Guard" has changed manufacturers to as noted, Champ Labs. Also does seem the RK sold PG line now the same as the ST line sold at WM. The two smallest filters, topic 4476 and 6607 use Champ classic construction, as opposed to majority typical ecore design (excepting the ST9688).

Linked for comparison are pics of previous manufacturer topic PG POF4476 as dissected by 53.

Thank you for taking the time to donate platelets. I know it commonly takes a few hours, and also restricts strenuous activities for a few days after. But it is so very helpful to so many people, especially now when hospitals are packed.

sir: long as my veins are still good and Iโ€™m healthy I donโ€™t mind doing it. Plus my blood is A+ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
