Going to change the hoses and coolant on my '97 Ford Expedition... 156k miles on vehicle. They gave me a free bottle of Prestone super radiator flush when I got the coolant. I've only just drained and refilled the radiator in the past. Is this stuff any good? should I use it? It is a bit labor intensive being that you have to drain and refill ~ 3 times to use this stuff.

Prestone superflush is fine.

I used it in the past with no ill effects. Just make sure you rinse your cooling system a few times with clean water afterwards to rid of any residue before you refill your system with fresh coolant mix.

I agree on the flush it thoroughly part. I ran this stuff in '00 Subaru and dang it makes suds like a washing machine unless you flush it many times.

Used the flush on my 02 explorer...2 years ago and lots of deris cam out.

I backflushed it by taking out the thermostate and using a garden hose to send a flow in reverse. I then ran the flush for 15 minutes without my thermostat at idle and heating set to full/hot. Great stuff. I then backflushed again untill the water ran clear. I replaced the thermostate and Filled with 50/50 and all was good. Up to now my coolant is prestine green.
If your gonna mix the coolant with water, used distilled water. Normal tap water has lots contaminants that will build scale in your system.

Good luck
