Next summer, I'll be doing a TB on the 1998 CRV. It had fresh Green in it when I got it w/new TB at 85k, I put in G-05 until 145k and I'm wondering what to go with next. I can see it's TOTALLY clean and shiny in side the radiator.

I was never into buying pre-dilluted coolant, but at WalMart I grabbed a jug of 50% PEAK Global. Later, I also ended up with 3/4 a gallon of 100% Prestone All Makes. Capacity is 1.5G, so I already have the right amount of Prestone, but would need more 50% PEAK Global to finish up.

I'm currently of the opinion that coolant type does not matter in my application.

The situation is that I changed my thermostat and lost most of my G-05, so after adding some water, I realized I needed a stronger concentration so I added a gallon of 50% Orange Prestone Dexcool I got for free. That did not top it up all the way, so I also grabbed a 100% jug of Prestone All Makes, it took 1q of that, and I assume it still has about 1q of the old G-05/water mix, getting me right to 50/50% now.

So, yeah, it's like the United Nations of coolant colours in there, Yellow, Orange and Green but I don't care. All I really care about is if Prestone All Makes is good for me. I'll just return the PEAK Global since I have a $5 rebate on the Prestone, only $4 for a 100% jug is pretty good.

Hmm, I wonder what colour the PEAK Global is anyway. The Orange Dex was pretty cool.

Right now, the offer for Prestone is either $5 off one jug or buy one jug, get one free. I would just get two jugs of the All Makes stuff.

Anyway, the PEAK Global claims to be a non 2-EH formula. It doesn't contain the controversial ingredient that some claim to be a plasticizer. I've used Prestone All Makes in my Saturn and in my father's Toyota without any problems for two years, but the coolant did smell strange, thought that could've been due to a dirty system.

I had Prestone All Makes in my previous 2 Honda Accords without any problem, I used it in my '94 LS400 since 1998 without any problem either.

I use Prestone T-Flush to rid of old coolant, since there is tap water in engine block I just poured 100% Prestone All Makes while the petcock was open to force some water out, until I start to see some coolant coming out of the petcock, I closed it and finish with 50-50% coolant-water.

The G-05 came out crystal clear. I'll be draining the present mix after only 6 months or so, I doubt I'll do a flush.

I read the non-2EH thing on PEAK site, but Prestone site is down.
