Pressure washer

It looks like we may be putting the house on the market next spring and moving to an apartment for a few years.
There are a couple of cleaning issues that may require a pressure washer: deck and railings, vinyl siding, garage floor etc.
I have a few options:
1.pay someone to clean the deck beforeI int/seal it. I think that would cost me a few hundred dollars.
2. Rent a powerwasher. Not sure what that would cost. I bet it would be at least $30 per day,and probably need it once in the fall and once in the spring.
3. Buy an electric washer from Sams ($129. + tax).
4. Buy a used gas PW for about $150 and sell it for close to that in the spring. (if we get an apartment we probably cant take it along).
I am not sure the electric would be powerful enough for the deck, but could come along for the move.
Any suggestions?

Before you put the house on the market hire a guy with a pressure washer . You will be busy enough .

The rentals will be much heavier duty and better.
Hire it out.

If you really want one don't go electric for all you will be doing you will want the extra power.

Got mine off Ebay new for around $150 with a nice Subaru engine on it. Way stronger than any electric I have used.

Electric is ok at best i have a 1600psi electric. Works fine for washing car and rinsing dirt off deck etc..but you will want more. Id rent one for the day if u have the time. Too annoying to buy used and resell.

The problem is that your house and deck are a lot dirtier than you think. Once the pressure washer works its magic, you'll have to keep cleaning and cleaning. It can get time intensive.

I echo the advice to hire it out. Let people with very powerful washers do it. They will do it a lot quicker than you could.

If you have a 2nd story, then a long wand is needed and a powerful pressure washer. I can imagine the long wand gets tiring after about 5 minutes. (or 5 seconds).
