Pressing "u"

In multiple computers over the years: Pressing "u" acts like a 'shortcut' key. This has occurred in multiple computers over many years. It happens in in emails and in forums. It brings up "Source of" boxes, causes things to disappear and sometimes adds 's in several places. It has occurred in both firefox and google chrome. I run Ubuntu and it has occurred over multiple versions.

Never seen it, and I have seen quite a few computers and operating systems.

By "source of" are you talking about the HTML source code being displayed? If so, it seems you are inadvertently hitting the control key. CTRL-U brings up source in many browsers.

So it was just an issue with this one keyboard?

Earlier you mentioned it was happening on multiple computers over the years...

Multiple keyboards multiple computers I have been using linux for years and years. Actually happened again when I pressed the "u" on compUters. I friggin gife up. I guess its linux.
