I didn't want to detract from the remembrances in the other 9/11 thread so here is what our town does. Pretty amazing for a small town in central Arizona. Healing Field of Prescott Valley
There are 2,977 American Flags each with a bio and pic of a person who died on that day. There are boots that signify first responders and military fatalities. Teddy bears are attached to the bios of children. This is a moving memorial, there's no place you can stand and see all of the flags, it really hits home how many people died. Proud to see some teachers there with their classes learning about that day. There were a lot of people there at noon on a Thursday walking among the flags reading the bios and there were tears. We have to keep this memory alive and the fire inside burning.
343 firemen, 72 LEOs, 55 military.
