This is a red oiled disposable air filter available on Amazon. Has anybody used one of these? It looks promising. About the same price as a Mann AF for my MB.

I wonder, will an oiled filter affect, or dirty , a mass airflow sensor.
This brings up a good point with these modern vehicles. 40 years ago it wouldn't matter. But with today's new complex vehicles that are laden with sensors, it's better to stick with OEM. It would also negate any warranty issues that might come up in regards to using aftermarket, non OEM parts.

On the flip side, what is it going to, "improve"?

I've used properly oiled K&Ns on a couple of cars with no issues. But you had to be very careful to oil them properly.

I don't think the disposable oiled air filters are "dripping" with oil ... just enough to wet and soak into the media. Doubt they are going to pose and problems. It would be way more likely for an over-oiled K&N to cause excess oil issues.
