Just spent two days in the hospital with my Dad over in Orlando, (he's still there but I had to come home). He is diabetic and his foot has turned black. He has five doctors working on him right now and they are debating taking his foot off. He's 94 with a list of medical problems, so they're not sure if he'll survive the surgery, (his heart is weak). Yet, if they don't do surgery, the infection will spread and that will kill him. I know 94 years is a long and full life, but even so, I ask that you guys remember my Dad in your prayers. Please pray for my Mom as well. As you can imagine, she is a mess right now. His name is Olin and my mother's name is Virginia.

Prayers sent. We were in a similar "danged if you do/ dang if you dont" situation with my step father in June. We ended up removing life support and he passed on my birthday. He was 79.

I lost my Dad who was 74 in August so I can fully understand what you and the family are feeling. Prayers sent...

You all have our prayers.
Just remember that when the worst comes, he will not really be gone. He will still live on in your heart and in your memories.

Yah that is how my dad died. He fell and hit his head. It caused a sub-dural hematoma, He was too weak to survive surgery, and would have been blind had he survived. Dad had lived with congestive heart failure for a decade and the last few yrs drained him of will as his scholar's brain slowly starved for for oxygen

Its a tough time, I know, I walked through it already. Short story: Wife and 3 young kids to take care, working 12hr shifts is hard enough, THEN, Mom gets emphysema, can't drive, tethered to an O2 bottle 24/7/365. Dad has heart attack, AND lung cancer. Brother who lives close by them refused to help...

Dad passed in 1999. That almost killed me and Mom. Mom lingered 7 more years, unbelievably. Weighed 78 lbs at her death. This stretch of 8 years almost did ME in.

God was great, took them home and walked me through it. Stay strong. HE will do the same for you.
