Power UP

Most of the members here feel additives are redundant or sometimes even harmful. This one sounds redundant to me, so why add an incremental cost per quart to an oil change?

Motor oil, especially a synthetic, can already do what Power Up does (as per the web page):
1. Strong film affinity maintains lubrication at start-up
2. By reducing the generation of large wear particles, the efficiency of the oil filter is improved
3. High base number helps neutralize acids that cause corrosion.
4. Reduces friction and metal to metal contact in high load areas of the engine
5. Reduces friction and lowers temperatures in critical bearing and ring zones
6. Has a powerful detergent which cleans and suspends sludge and varnish

But if you want to do a test, keep track of any gas mileage improvements, do an oil analysis before and after treatment, and report back.

I'm just learning here but from what I think that I have learned isn't the "Chlorinated parafins" just a trick to sell snake oil?

It seems to me that this is a phenom that has been capitalized on many times by the "Great Promiser's" on TV and elsewhere and that it has no merit. Yes it works in the demo, but it has no valid value in practice as I understand it.

I'll look for corrections or whatever from those that really know.

Made with chloro parrafin and a high dose of 400 tbn calcium which will help to neutralize the acids formed at operating temp. It will offer outstanding AW and EP porperties but will corrode and engine in doing do so, good stuff as far a a cutting oil but not an engine oil additive.

I've asked one of the owners of the company to send a sample to Terry for analysis and he bought a sample kit today. I would like to see what it shows and will post anything I find. I wonder if Terry has seen this stuff up close. Terry are you out there?

Don't know about MotorUP, but talked to Terry today and the Power Up is coming his way, he's ready. I think I'll wait for what he has to say.

Chlorinated parafins eat bearings, in my experience, no exceptions, maybe this product has solved what no one else has ever done. After all there are only so many pieces out there to build an additive with so, somewhere, there's magic in the air.

No need to test read the patent its all there what I said.

Going by memory PowerUP

Chlor parafin or olephin 35%
Nuetral oil 20%
Shell Sol 71 (Iso Parafin) 25%
Lubrizol 78 has (renamed now) 20%

Has Chlor density is very high due to the chlor

Is it possible that what they sell might be just a little bit different?

What is a testimonal worth? Someone says product X increased my mileage by 10 percent and gave me more power and quicker startst. I don't know about you, but I can wait to by some product X for myself. That's enough for me.
