Power Steering Stop Leak Products

I've got a small power steering leak in my truck. Has anyone had any luck using any of the stop leak products. I plan on repairing/replacing the pump but thought I would try a stop leak until the weather gets better.

If it's from a shaft seal, maybe. From a pressure hose, probably not.

I've had good luck with a Prestone's Power Steering Stop Leak.
Of course it was in an 1983 Ford LTD, and it probably had the original PS fluid in it when the leak happened in College in 1999.

I just used it as a top off fluid. I don't remember doing a drain and fill.

I think I went through 1 pint of the P/S Stop Leak before it stopped.
I remember being impressed that it actually worked.

It is too bad that I cooked the head gasket in traffic a few summers later when an obscure heater hose sprung a pinhole leak and I couldn't get off the highway (no shoulder) and shut it down fast enough.
I sold it to a mechanic for $100 and he later told me that once fixed it ran like a dream.

You can get Valvoline MaxLife Power Steering Fluid for like 4-5 bucks, i never had a psu that was leaking so I cannot say for sure if it works. it is worth a shot to turkey baster some in and see.

If its leaking from the steering rack near the boot its not going to get any better. Have you located the leak? Just had to replace the steering rack in my Taurus as it started out as the typical slow leak and progressively got so bad in a few weeks that it would drain like a steady slow faucet drip
