my stupid pool pump keeps getting air bubbles in the output tube. ive tightened the hose clamps, checked the gasket aroud the pressure relief valve on the lid. its a little intech 1000. gallon per hour paper filter pump. it runs 24 hrs a day, had it over 2 years. is the pump failling? if it is, should i buy a larger pump? i have a 15ft x 4ft 5000 gallon pool

I'd look at the intakes and see where it might be sucking air. You may have a leak in the pump housing or pipes somewhere.

How much air are we talking about, what diameter pipe and does it effect your flow rate?

my wife bought and setup the pool originally as i opposed geting one. its only been this summer thaqat ive had to take over the responsibility. she ran it 24/7 because she is lazy when it comes to maitenance. Tho i love her to death, she would prolly never get her car maitenanced on time if not for me.i have to plug the intake and output vents in the pool if i turn the pump off, eater leaks outa the cap slowly. i was mad when i madethis post... i forgot about it till tonight. She prolly burnt up the pump.
