I wouldn't worry about that too much. That's ten years down the road and a lot of miles.

I just ordered a brand new engine gasket set for a 1973 Suzuki TS-185. [/quote]

Suzuki, like all the old UJM makers sold enough bikes to justify continue support, especially from the aftermarket. In their statement Victory said they will only provide parts support for 10 years for these machines, and given the limited time they were a brand and the limited number of bikes sold, there may not be enough for aftermarket makers to churn out parts.

I know some members here ride Vics. I had one for a while, it was basically a good bike. Performance wise it did every thing my Harley does, but better. I think they have proven to be pretty reliable if you discount the first couple of years. Barring an accident or something major, the only parts that most people would need are typically wear items, or the miscellaneous gasket or seal. I'd say the biggest concern would be re-sale value for those not planning on keeping the bike, which wasn't stellar to begin with. Life is to short to get freaked out with the ups and downs of the motorcycle industry, this is supposed to be an enjoyable, relaxing hobby. Competition is good for the industry and us, the riders. There will be winners and losers. I can't badmouth Vic or Indian since I think they are a decent bike, and more importantly, have forced an unnamed long standing manufacturer to get off their butts and improve their offerings.

I sure wouldn't be spazzing out about it, you dared to be different, Ride your Vics with pride!

The Vegas and 8 ball models were some good looking good running bikes. The baggers look to batmobile for me. The Indians especially the Scout models are selling quick. I have seen a few of them around..only a few Chief models.

The hammer was also a decent looking bike in my opinion for those who wanted a fat rear tire.
