I drive an 02 Sentra with a 2.5. I was burning A LOT of oil. I've tried a few different kinds (even PP) of oil (5w30) and a couple different additives (Rislone, CD-2). Nothing was really helping with consumption at all.
A couple of weeks ago I switched from Kendall syn blend to GTX. At the same time I added 16 oz. of MMO. Well after that my car started smoking and I burned up 5 qts of GTX in a week.
So I changed the PCV valve and thought I would try GTX again. Just because I'm sick of burning up expensive oil. This time I thought I would try 10w30. It's been 4 days now and I haven't burned any oil at all. So what do you think finally did it???
The MMO? Switching from syn blend to conventional? Switching from 5w30 to 10w30? Changing the PCV? Or all of the above?
