plastic scratcxh remover

Need to remove the really fine scratches from the mc windshield, it turns all foogy? when headlights hit it. Tried some stuff that made it look better but I think it just left oil in the scratches cause it still turns hazy with oncoming headlights

plasticx is pretty mild. it might reduce your scratches and reduce odxidation. if that doesn't work look for some 3m plastic polish (i can't remember the exact name.)

If it doesn't help I would just buy a new one seeing safety is the primary concern here.

Meguiar's makes a two or three step plastic cleaner also. I just use the cleaner (swirl remover) version and it does a great job on headlight lenses and even the instrument cluster bezel.

The Plastic X works really well, especially on headlights. I don't see why it wouldn't work for your application. One thing I have noticed is that once you use it, you need to continue to use it on a somewhat regular basis. Maybe it just works that well and you notice when things start yellowing earlier. I have used their Scratch X on plastic also with pretty good results. I don't know if I would use that on a windscreen though.

typically there is a coating on the headlight from the manufacturer. once this coating is worn away the plastic becomes more prone to oxidize. plasticx will remove some oxidation, but it will also remove the protective coating.

Hey, would any of those products maybe take the fine scratches/swirls out of a hockey visor? I've tried a few things, nothing has really worked. Don't want to have to buy a new one, but some of the scratches are in my sight line and driving me crazy !!!

Go to an aquarium store and ask for plastic or acrylic fish tank polish. They'll have a variety of products but they're all basically the same -- a very light polishing compound. And they come in pretty big bottles for pretty cheap compared to the stuff I've seen in the Pep Boys. I got some stuff called Plus 210 that works great. I've used it on everything from my watch crystal to my speedometer cover. I even use it on scuffed up CD's.
