Plasti Dip Your Car???

I have been hanging out at a Jeep Forum and this process of "Plasti dipping" intrigued me:

Seems like it might be a good way to protect aluminum wheels in the winter from salt. Maybe other ideas?

Kind of odd....some guys plasti dip their entire vehicle for a flat finish look. Yikes.

I have noticed this around too. While I'm not sure of the benifits of it I have to admit, I like the look.

I've seen people cover their vehicle with rhino liner. Typically ancient Toyota FJs. It looks awful! However, they probably started with something dented and rusted so it could be an improvement.

I have an Uncle who tried to sell me an older Bronco that he had sent out and they did something like this to the body.

The paint job was a flat Camo with some type of clear sealer on top, but it had a texture of really coarse sandpaper on top of rhino lining.

That being said, I knew there was something wrong with the Bronco, this is the cheapest guy on the face of the planet and he later Conned my Grandmother to place a Lean against her house.

Sure enough, I learned from another Uncle that the the Frame of the Bronco was bent and not worth repairing.

That being said, I'd be scared of anything with this type of paint job. If you are doing it yourself, or hiring out, fine.

But SUV's, and trucks that have this type of paint job have typically been beat on so heavily it wouldn't be worth your time.
