plain black license plate?

Does anybody know where I can find plastic, plain black license plates(blank)?
I've seen aluminum ones online, but the link i had for a plastic one (cheaper) seem to be vanished. I need this in order to make my own "vanity" plate for the front of my car.
any tips/info are welcome...thanks!

97tbird go to your local Police or Sheriff's office and ask for a DARE license plate. It is black plastic so all you have to do is flip it over and use the other side.

That's one reason I hate Ohio. We are "just another number" here with having two tags on vehicles. True, if Ohio was smart and saved money by dropping the front tag I'd have a Nascar or driver specific tag on the cars, but alas...

What is the matter with having two plates? You pay for the plates at some point or another... the government does not make or save $$$ by doing it.

IMO theyre really used for a target to shoot a radar gun at.

However, also note that the more populated states: NJ, NY, CA, etc. have front and rear, while the less populous states tend to only have one. I wonder why??? theft?

ND makes you have 2 plates. I don't know the reasoning? I'm glad I live in a state which doesn't have a front one. That's the first thing I do when I buy a new car -- rip the front license holder off.

actually got a ticket once for not having my front plate on.... fix it ticket.

i think they require it for the red light cameras, if you dont have it they cant get you.
