Need tires for my Acura TL Type S. Preferably something quiet as i hate road noise and these General GMax AS07 i recently put on this car are probably the noisiest tires ive ever ran on a TL. Im sensitive to road noise and my ears were ringing after driving 30 minutes with these tires. Narrowed my choices down to these 2. I can get the Nokians for cheap. As in 60 bucks each (new old stock - dated 11/2022). And i can get the Pirelli for around $150. They both get solid reviews but if the Pirelli is significantly better tire i dont mind spending the extra. Just curious if anyone has experience with either of these? Like i said just looking for quiet and smooth with still some decent handling characteristics and good in wet weather.

The Pirelli P7 tires will be slightly quieter, but the Nokian Ones are not noisy by any means. I put a set of Nokian Ones on a 2006 Honda Odyssey minivan and they are very quiet except for a barely perceptible hum on deeply rain-grooved pavement at highway speeds. Both of these all-season tires perform well in wet weather. The Pirellis have better handling characteristics, but not +$90/tire better.

Have the nokians on our van right now. They are actually a very quiet tire. for $60 they are a steal.

Wont the fact that the rubber is older on the Nokians potentially increase road noise? I'd get as new of tires as i could, forget the money.

Thats what im sorta wondering. I mean theyve been stored in a tire dealership warehouse but still

Pirelli. If it's not working, you can still return it and buy the Nokian. If the Nokian proved to be noisy, you may not get a chance to return because of the clearance sell.

Well they only have a couple sets left of the nokians im sure theyll be long gone soon. Im just worried about the nokians being a couple years old already and how that will affect road noise, etc. But yea maybe just splurge on Pirelli and be done with it

I don't know about your climate, but the last nokian (winters) on the van were in use for 18 years here in Calgary. We don't see a lot of extreme temperatures (we do, but only for a few weeks in the summer and winter) so tires don't age a lot. Little risk at $240 for a set.

Made in 2022 should be ok. Two years ago I got a deal at Walmart for Pirelli AS plus 2 @ $125 because they are made in 2020. They work well, quiet, and no aging issue at all.
Nokian One has a good review too so it's really up to you OP :)

If you don't like the Nokian for $60 you could probably swap them out and resell them on CL, FB Market etc for $100 each and get the Pirelli. Also depends how many miles you drive if 2 years matters. In the next 4 years will you wear out a 60k+ tire or will they have 3/4 tread left?

No i wont be wearing them out very quickly

Hard to lose with either, don’t over stress. If I felt like experimenting, or was being budget conscious I’d go for the Nokias; otherwise I’d probably favor the pirellies.

Too bad those tires were not directly compared. It seems that the Pirellis are likely the better tire, and if you're not wearing them out quickly, I'd go with the newer tires.

I went from RT43 to P7 AS+2 and the Pirellis truly feel like a premium tire with better handling and refinement. I intend to get the P7 AS+3 on my E90 which currently has aging Pzero AS+. I think they will be an excellent match for your TL-S

My daughter just had these exact Pirellis installed on her 18 enclave and they’re an impressive tire. Of course the stock good years were so bad that anything was an improvement. I’ve got continental lx 25s on an 18 rogue and I’d put the Pirellis against them any day. Dead silent, steering is effortless and track straight as can be with zero wobble. I may have to look at these when the time comes.

Where are you finding them for that price? I need 205/65r16 for the Camry. I've had Nokian all season tires before and liked them.
