pilot light

Hello everybody

I cleaned out my pilot light tube, to my gas furnace, last night and now my pilot flame is huge. I have tried adjusting the pilot adj screw and it does not change the flame size. Any ideas?

Is it possible you left the orifice out? Also, what color is the pilot flame? Blue is good, yellow is not.

Blue and what would the orfice be?

Just googled and the orifice is on there. Just to make sure we're talking abut the same thing is the orifice the tube with a tiny hole on the end of it where the gas comes out? If so yes it is screwed in tight

What did you clean it out with? Might have made the hole bigger, might need a new orifice.

Define huge... 2"-6" is normal depending on the burner and pilot location.

Yes, that's what I was talking about.

I cleaned it out with a safety pin that was smaller than the opening in the pilot light orifice. And it's big enough that it's actually heating up my furnace closet now.
